School stories

Considering the fact that every lesson in Savremena is different, on 2 and 5 November our students visited one of the hotels in our capital with their business teacher, Tatjana Vilcek. This hotel was “Constantine the Great” and they visited it with the purpose of witnessing managerial operations in business firsthand.

Interaction with successful people

Our students also had a chance to meet the management of this Belgrade hotel and ask them questions about everything they wished to know.

Naturally curious, our students wanted to know all details – starting from their beginnings in management, challenges in managing the hotel, to establishing competition on the market. That way, they they learned a lot about business environment and other elements of business they learned about in lessons firsthand.

From students’ perspective

After visiting the hotel and better understanding of business conditions in which the hotel works and makes profit, our students had a task to present a report about the facts they heard regarding business dealings.

In all this, they had help from their teacher who gave them detailed instructions and additional information they can find useful. Also, they inserted the answers to the questions they made and asked the hotel’s sales and operating manager in their presentations.

A pledge for future

All these activities will help our students prepare for future business challenges of their own, but also get ideas for designing their own business projects they can realise one day. This visit was successful, and students returned from “Constantine the Great” satisfied with what they saw and learned.
