On Saturday, 17 December, Savremena’s students had the opportunity to explore new worlds and witness mysteries being revealed at this year’s Science Festival, held under the slogan Čista desetka (Serbian for top-notch, A1).
This year, the Science Festival once again took place at Belgrade Fair, where visitors experienced real magic of science.
Plenty of opportunities to better understand science
More than 550 scientists awakened the students’ curiosity with their knowledge and unusual approach, and turned this visit into an unforgettable adventure. Savremena’s students were especially delighted by interesting guests from abroad. At the end of the visit, the students couldn’t decide what had left the strongest impression on them – holograms, lasers and optical fibres, forensics or ecology.
They particularly enjoyed the Faculty of Biology’s presentation on water bears, who, due to their special powers of adaptation, can survive extreme conditions. The story about their survival in space, where they were exposed to a variety of strong environmental stresses, left the students breathless.
This was yet another opportunity for Savremena’s students to not only become acquainted with new and exciting discoveries, but also develop their interest in science even further, and reach an even better perception of how complex and interesting the world around us is.
