School stories

On Saturday, 25 March, Savremena International School hosted the Regional geography competition organised by the Regional Talent Centre and the Faculty of Geography.

Meeting place of young geography lovers in Belgrade

Apart from Belgrade, where the honour of hosting the competitors and their teachers was given to Savremena International School, the competition was also held in Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Niš. In addition to the schools in Belgrade, the participants also came from schools in Pančevo, Bela Crkva, Sremska Mitrovica, Valjevo, Veliko Gradište, Ljig, Krupanj, Obrenovac, Smederevo, Požarevac and Petrovac na Mlavi. As many as three hundred students competed on Saturday, and Savremena hosted over a hundred young and talented geographers.

Modern conditions for accomplishing excellent results

To present themselves in the best possible light and achieve good results, the students had to solve several challenges.

The first step was a knowledge test comprising everything they had learned in geography from the 5th grade of elementary school until the third year of high school. What followed was a practical test – constructing a climate diagram. Thanks to interactive smart boards and projectors which are an integral part of modern education, the students in all classrooms had the necessary requirements to do a multimedia test in the end. In the pleasant and modern environment of a truly different school, the competitors gave their best in order to qualify for the State competition to be held in May.

A welcome to remember

The biggest support for the competitors came from Savremena’s students who, as excellent hosts and true ambassadors of their school, did their best to take their peers’ nerves away with smiles, chatting and a warm welcome.

Dobrodošlica

As many as seven students from Savremena took part in this competition and achieved remarkable results, showing that the school is a place that provides excellent conditions for accomplishing great results.

We thank our guests for their words of kindness and praise given to the host school and wish them the best of luck in the upcoming rounds of the competition!
