Students of Savremena International School assume an active role in a number of educational and social activities and campaigns. This time, as a part of the European digital campaign called the Get Online Week, Savremena’s students used Skype to conduct a conference lesson with the students of the ICT department of the Technical School in Smederevo.

Sharing experiences with peers

Along with the unique opportunity to meet their peers from a different school, the conference class allowed both sides to exchange their thoughts and experiences when it comes to the use of modern technologies in teaching whereby Saveremena’s students presented how the use of IT has improved their learning experience.

In return, the students form the Technology School in Smederevo introduced our students to the beauties and hidden treasures of Smederevo including the oldest fortress as well as some ancient verses mentioning the town.

The use of new technologies in teaching

Classes like this one demonstrate the extent to which the Internet can enrich a child’s education, personal development as well as their access to the vast potential of the world wide web.

Thanks to the overview of folk creation at the end of the class, students were able to understand how technology helps them exchange knowledge and experiences, gaining important insight along the way. This was a truly different class with a lot of participants, laughter and positive energy.
