On Thursday, 1 November, the students of International School Savremena had a unique opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BSE), when they visited this institution together with their Business and Economics teacher Ms Marija Milić.
International School Savremena organised the Halloween week at the school for the fourth year in a row. The traditional event includes several days of Halloween-themed lessons, spooky decoration around the school, and the star event, the costume party which took place on Wednesday, 31 October.

For the students of International School Savremena, Thursday, 25 October was Book Day. Together with their physics and mathematics teacher, the students visited the 63rd International Belgrade Book Fair, and during the course of nearly four hours spent there, they had the opportunity to visit different stands and find the books that suit their taste.
The students of Year 11 had a unique chance to explore the topic of globalisation from different perspectives during the interdisciplinary lesson which connected Geography, Economics and Global Perspectives. Even though the students were presented with different views on the topic, they also pinpointed the characteristics that are common for all three subjects.

Savremena’s kickboxer Nataša Katić won a gold medal at the Belgrade Championship held on Saturday, 6 October in Lazarevac, at the SRC Kolubara sports hall. The championship was organised by the Kolubara kickboxing club, together with the Kickboxing Federation of Belgrade.
We are very proud to have two student with exemplary results on their IGCSE exams – Matija Šarenac and Jana Marinović received their Cambridge ICE diplomas ‘With Distinction’ this August.
On 28 September, Savremena’s guitarist Nikola Milosavljević took part in the ‘Autumn in Čukarica’ music event, as one of the young talents from the Vatroslav Jagić music school.
On Friday, 28 September, Savremena’s third-year student Adriana Salahović participated, as a member of the “Glasovi Nade” singing school, in the international music festival Angel Voice in Belgrade, where she won first place in the 16-18 age category.
Savremena’s third-year student Nikola Milosavljević used his summer break for education and his greatest love – the guitar. While his peers were relaxing on the beach or the mountains, Nikola participated in two music events – ARLEMM, a summer music event in Arilje, and the international guitar festival Forum Gitarre Wien.

Promoting intercultural and academic student exchanges has always been an important part of school life at International School Savremena.
A school is only as successful as its students. Once again Tara Ćulibrk shone like a star in the world of swimming, bringing medals to Savremena from yet another competition.
Yet another school year has started! On 3 September, Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 students of International School Savremena returned to the familiar classrooms and hallways, while Year 10 students were introduced to their new school and friends, and learnt about the inspirational and educational lessons from their teachers.
Danilo Stokanić, Savremena’s student attending the Cambridge International Programme, achieved great success by winning as many as 50 points in biology and chemistry tests, ranking second at the entrance exam at the Faculty of Medicine with a total of 88.78 points.
On Friday, 29 June, Savremena’s students had the honour and pleasure to participate in the organisation of a reception at the White Palace. The following day, on Saturday, 30 June, they attended a workshop held by the renowned lecturer Christopher Thurber, after which they took part in a workshop and enjoyed a tour of the palatial complex.
Savremena joined in the celebration of Women’s Golf Day. On Tuesday, 5 June, at the Belgrade Golf Club, Savremena’s teachers spent the day with female golf players and other fans of the sport.

International School Savremena prepared a wonderful surprise for its Y10 students to mark the end of their first school year at Savremena. This time, they had a chance to experience an exciting and truly different interdisciplinary lesson in geography, biology and history outside of their classroom.

On Monday, 18 June, the Stamenković Stage at Belgrade’s Vlada Divljan Cultural Centre resounded with applause and cheers due to Savremena’s students’ phenomenal performance that brought the spirit of the 1950s to life with an unforgettable, spectacular take on the characters from the classic Grease in a new, modern setting.
On Tuesday, 12 May, Savremena’s board games aficionados, and those who are curious about the process of designing board games, met with designers of the local board games company Dažbog Games, who were welcomed by Savremena.
