School stories

Savremena’s students once again showed their kindness and helped children in dire straits feel loved and cared for. They provided gift baskets for the children at the Drinka Pavlović Home for Children and Youth without Parental Care in Senjak whom they visited together with their Global Perspectives teacher and DofE coordinator.

About the Drinka Pavlović Children’s Home

Drinka Pavlović is a home for children and youth without parental care. Currently, there are approximately 50 children at the Home which provides them with food, shelter and professional counselling.

The more you give, the more you will get back

Each class prepared many gift baskets with hygienic supplies, while their teachers, together with the staff from International School Savremena, prepared bags with sweets. Everyone involved in this project expressed the readiness and wish to continue assisting those in need. The children were happy and our hearts were full.

The students of International School Savremena learned that true joy lies in the act of giving without expecting something in return. Academic research and thousands of years of human history confirm that achieving meaning, fulfilment, and happiness in life comes from making others happy, and not from being self-centred.

The most beautiful way to spend the holidays is to be among these lovely kids. International School Savremena is proud of its students who brought help and joy to the children at the Home during this festive season.
