School stories

Savremena International School students marked the end of the school year in a truly different way, instead of spending it at school they ventured out into the “classroom without walls”.

To train their mind and body, just before the beginning of their summer holiday, our students embarked on an exciting trip to Avala, upon which they visited the Petrovaradin fortress and finally enjoyed the fun activities at the Wonderland adrenaline park.

An exciting conquest of Avala

07Savremena’s students began their adventure on Avala, where they were able to relax in nature and take part in exciting activities. By following the map, students walked along an especially marked trail and had fun in the orienteering exercise as they learned about the beauties and wonders of the mountain.

The rain from the night before made the ground slippery and their hike up the mountain more challenging than the students had expected but also more interesting. With a bit of effort and a passion for adventure, students reached the top of the mountain where they were able to go up the Avala tower and enjoy the scenic view of the mountain and Belgrade at its foot.

06Adventures at Petrovaradin and the Wonderland adrenaline park

The next day, Savremena’s students were ready to experience new adventures in nature. Their next destination was the Petrovaradin fortress, a grand structure on the right bank of the Danube river in Novi Sad. Walking along the fortress, students were able to hear numerous stories from Serbia’s history and find out some exciting and long-kept secrets.

22Having explored the fortress, Savremena’s students headed off to the Wonderland adrenaline park where they tried their hand at some exciting challenges on a fun obstacle course that put their agility to the test. The student-favorite was by far the high ropes course.

An amazing end to the perfect school year

Lots of fun, laughter and positive energy marked the end of the academic year at Savremena International School. Our students truly enjoyed the days leading up to their summer holiday which were organised also to reward their hard work throughout the year.
